Michael Eberlein
Michael Barry Eberlein, 65, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. Born Nov. 20, 1946, in Ann Arbor, Mich., son of William Frederick Eberlein and Mary Bernarda Barry Eberlein, Mike was a graduate of Shimer College and the University of Wisconsin at Madison, an Army Corps veteran, a retired mechanical engineer (formerly employed by Amana Refrigeration, York International, Carrier and Rheem), and a gunsmith by avocation.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Karen Cushing of Madison, Wis.; a daughter, Laura Eberlein of Duluth, Ga.; a son, William Eberlein of Fayetteville; two brothers, Robert (Stephanie) Eberlein of Glenn Dale, Md., and Patrick (Jennifer) Eberlein of Chapel Hill, N.C.; four sisters, Sarah Wells of Lincoln, Vt., Mary Wells (Steve Schultz) of Carmine, Texas, Kathryn (Steve) Klaber of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Kristen James Eberlein of Durham, N.C.; a cousin, Liz (Ian) Redpath; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization devoted to the rehabilitation of seriously wounded war veterans, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516. Inurnment will be at a later date in Shawano, Wis., [and] at Arlington National Cemetery.
