Mankato, Minn.

Dear Mr. Brandrup:

It is about two years since I completed the course in your splendid school, and I have had time to reflect, I have found the training you gave me a wonderful help and can conscientiously recommend the Mankato Commercial College to anyone who is ambitious and who wants to get on in this world.

I have been employed as bookkeeper by the National Back of Commerce in this city ever since I left your school and I think my services have been satisfactory to the officers.

Wishing you continued success, I remain,

Yours truly,

W. F. PLUEDMAN

In the presence of immediate relatives only Miss Eunice Pluedeman and Mr. William J. Metcher were united August 30, at seven o’clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. M. Leimer, of Wisner, Neb., and took place at the home of the brides’s parents Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Pluedemann.

The bride wore a gown of bridal satin, veiled with Spanish lace and ornamented with pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink and white bridal roses. Her attendant, Mrs. Leimer, a sister of the bride, wore a dress of messaline and princess lace, her wedding gown two years ago. Rev. A Fenner attended the groom.

Following the ceremony refreshments were served, the bride sharing the wedding cake with her mother, who was a bride twenty-five years ago and in honor of whose silver wedding anniversary the day had been chosen.

The young couple will make their home in Mitchell.

A Bayview man was electrocuted Sunday when he climbed a power pole to make some repairs.

John Michael Volkman, 25, was found dead Tuesday morning in the yard at his Bayview home.

Floyd Stalder, a Kootenai County Sheriff detective, said the investigation revealed the victim apparently had climbed a power pole adjoining a driveway, attempted to reconnect the clamp from the transformer to the primary line and was electrocuted.

The investigation report concluded that the former owner of Rusty Scupper Inn died Sunday evening. The body was discovered about 9 a.m. Tuesday by Steve Spotanski and John Peterson of the First Security Bank, Coeur d’Alene when they came to the house on business.

The funeral arrangements are pending at English Funeral Chapel.

Prohibition, Richard A ("Elmer") Cronce (1863-1928)

Milwaukee — (AP) A dead man came back to Milwaukee under custody of a United States marshal.

The man was Elmer Cronce, 62, of Shawano, Wis., and he died while enroute to Milwaukee in the custody of  W. R. Phillips, deputy United States marshal.

Unable to furnish $1,000 bail when arrested on the charge of having moonshine liquor, Cronce was being brought to Milwaukee to await trial.

“He was in good spirits and was telling me of his hunting experiences up in the North woods,” Philips said. “Suddenly he doubled up and explained that he had a strange feeling. He tried to fight it off for a few minutes and then suddenly collapsed.”
